Fruit Carving Class

Wat Phrasriratanaram offers a Fruit and Vegetable Carving Class that invites visitors to explore Kae Sa Luk, an ancient Thai art form originally reserved for royal court decorations and Buddhist offerings.The class is typically held on Food Fair Days (the third Sunday of each month) to coincide with the temple's community gatherings.Class Highlights

  • Instruction: Classes are taught by professional fruit carvers who guide students through the specific methods and delicate techniques of the craft.
  • Curriculum:
    • Introduction to proper use and maintenance of specialized carving tools.
    • Hands-on practice transforming everyday produce like carrots, tomatoes, and cucumbers into intricate flowers, leaves, and traditional patterns.
    • Lessons on symmetry and depth to create stunning edible centerpieces.
